We Need Maker Educators!

Are you a maker interested in sharing a skill? We need you!

Decatur Makers is officially fully open again, and we’re looking for teachers to lead in-person and virtual classes.

We are continuing to keep our eye on Covid-19 and have protocols in place for the safety of our entire community.

With that in mind, we are looking for folks who are interested in teaching:

Project Based Classes:

  • Where students get hands one with equipment and materials
  • Where students walk away having learned some new skills and a finished piece
Lecture Based Classes:

  • Where students are exposed to new ideas or new techniques related to making
  • Where students walk away having learned something, and inspired to try something new

If there is something you would share in either format, Decatur Makers offers competitive and negotiable rates of compensation for our teachers and instructors. Truly the sky is the limit for what kind of class you could teach at Decatur Makers.  We have facilities for projects related to arts and crafts, metalworking, textiles, woodworking, electronics, and many other areas! Moreover we have a community that is eager to learn.

If you are interested in teaching a class, conducting a lecture, or have any questions about this opportunity please reach out to us at info@decaturmakers.org. If you already have a class idea in mind please go ahead and fill out our Class Proposal Form and we will get back to you ASAP!

Thank you for your interest and hopefully you’ll be teaching with us soon!
