James Vincent | Makerspace Manager

James Vincent III is originally from Charlotte N.C., born to an electrical engineer and corporate accountant. When his father was transferred to BellSouth headquarters, they moved to Atlanta and James graduated from Chamblee Charter High. James studied industrial design at University of Illinois in Chicago before returning to Atlanta to study sculpture at Georgia State University. He left academia to start a family here in Decatur. His child attends Drew Charter Elementary. James’ artistic pursuits revolve around iron casting and metal fabrication, but as an avid maker, he loves to learn new skills. A life-long car enthusiast, he is currently restoring a 1969 MGB.
