DM Member project: Kenny’s “Smart” dog door

Member Kenny, built this “smart” dog door that would let his dog out but keep his cat in once he teaches his dog to press the red button to get out (until the cat outsmarts him…) Kenny laser cut a hard dog door with an insert in the base for magnets, and designed and 3D printed a locking mechanism that can be opened or closed by a servo motor. There’s a sensor on the outside to know when the dog (or the cat, if it’s escaped) is ready to come in. #goodluckoutsmartingacat
