Happy 2019, Makers!
Help Us Make It Happen!
Would you consider making a donation to support our End-of-Year campaign and help make dreams come true?
No doubt about it, we are growing. We have over 250 members and about 2,000 kids and adults have attended classes and workshops, participated in our open community clubs and meetings, and been served by our Outreach events.
And we have scores of curious people regularly visiting our hands-on weekly open Build Nights for tours, to meet some of our members, and work on a project.
We’ve been upgrading our equipment, and are planning an expansion to house our growing metal shop. Our members have worked on so many cool personal projects as hobbyists and others as part of their small businesses and even more who’ve contributed to group projects for the community like this one, and this one.
We’ve grown our community partnerships to 30 schools, educational groups, and other community organizations around Atlanta. Our class and workshop offerings have grown significantly this year! Over 140 volunteers have stepped up to help out with our outreach, community events, and in so many other ways. And we’ve recently hired a second employee! Woot Woot! So many big milestones for our non-profit!
Now, add to this our plans for bigger community involvement and student and teacher outreach, growing our cache of equipment and tools, sharing through more classes and workshops, and you can see we are stretching ourselves. We have BIG DREAMS and could use a little help. But so can the people of all ages who are served by our community.
It’s our community of members who are the heart of what we do as they share their skills and expertise ranging from engineering, art, design, coding, woodworking, metal working, textiles, science, 3D printing, and so much more. Throw in the physical tools and equipment needed to make stuff all under one roof, and you have the people and place to make dreams come true!
The focus of our end-of-year campaign is getting more people of all ages creating and learning by building and making. This fosters life-changing experiences where kids and adults find passions and develop problem-solving skills that can help them realize their dreams.
We’re running our campaign through the end of 2018 with a goal of raising $12,000 by December 31 (oh, what a Happy New Year it will be!) . Your support of our maker space would be greatly appreciated! Truly, we’ll be dancing and singing over here!
Wondering how your donation (no amount too small!) would make a difference?
— $10 would help a young maker in need take a class
— $25 would supply our 3D printer with a 1 Kg PLA filament
— $50 would cover materials for one monthly Family Build Night
— $100 would give us a good-quality cordless drill
— $300 would provide an annual membership for a maker in need
— $500 would help sponsor an Outreach STEAM event for up to 25 kids
— $75,000 would finish up our Metalshop buildout (can’t hurt to ask, right?)
We also want to fund more scholarships for kids in need and other outreach programs. Our passion for the positive impact that making has on kids and adults is limitless! That’s why we’re asking for your support.
