Build your own PC? Watch a 3D Printer create some magic? Come explore with Decatur Makers at the Decatur Recreation Center in the “Animal Crackers” Room on Saturday, May 10 from 10am – 2pm to have your share of techy, geeky fun!
PC expert Sam Lysinger from simplycompute.net will walk anyone 12 and older (kids come with a parent/adult, please) thru a FREE detailed Build A PC class. If you want to be hands on, you must purchase and bring your own materials and tools (see the list here) or just come by to watch and learn. FYI we’ll be providing Linux open source software to boot up your PC. If you’d prefer another operating system, just bring it along!
We’ll also be unboxing, testing, and using our 3D Printer (Taz Lulzbot 2.0) for the first time! Big thanks to the Decatur Business Association who helped us get our starting rolls of filament. Tradition says one should first print a cup/shotglass to toast the printer… we’ll use Sweet Tea, of course!
