Our first increase in membership dues since we started Decatur Makers 7 years ago is on the horizon: Beginning January 1, 2020 dues will go up from a few dollars a month to a few more dollars a year (see table below).
The good news is, you can get your 2020 membership at 2019 rates if you sign up for a pre-paid annual membership before Dec 31, 2019. That’ll also include a 10% discount!
And please note: Decatur Makers still has the lowest membership dues and fees of any other makerspace in Georgia – even with the increase.
Why are dues going up?
We need to add and upgrade tools and equipment.
We need to finish the exterior space for metalworking.
We need to explore ways to accommodate a continually growing interest in Decatur Makers. (Think: expansion.)
We want to expand our workforce skills development initiative as well as better support entrepreneurs and small business owners.
We want to continue to get more young people involved in hands-on STEAM education, especially disadvantaged youth.
And: The cost of just running a makerspace is higher than it was a few years ago.

How do I renew at 2019 membership rates?
Click on the JOIN tab and choose an annual membership package. Pre-pay in a lump sum before December 31, and you’re in!
Keep in mind: We’re a nonprofit, and “Cornerstone” memberships that run for 3-4 years include a tax-deductible gift to Decatur Makers. And “Supporter” memberships add a little extra to help our cause (while giving you access to one of those 27-gallon bins for storage!)
