We can’t say it enough… thank you, thank you, thanks!
We’re filled with honest and sincere appreciation for every dollar, every shared message, every email. THANK YOU for helping us do this… As Jim Rohn says, “Whatever good things we build end up building us.” You have +100 Karma for the rest of the year.
We’ll keep you posted on how these (and other) funds will help us get our space open already! See you soon…
Oct 30… Over 130% Funded! We’ve been celebrating since we smashed our initial $15K goal! And we’re still dancing with arms in the air, ’cause we totally care! We are so humbled by the support of our more than 230 beautiful backers, as well as all you other folks out there supporting our cause, sending emails and tweets, sharing posts and info. It all had such an enormous impact. We thank you!!!!
Oct 28… WOW! 116% funded! 36 hours to go… Thanks for all your support! BUT no rest for the mad-hatted makers. NOW we’re shooting for our first stretch goal: another $10,000…Will you help us?
We’d like to create a large door opening that’ll allow bigger projects & equipment to come in and out of the space. AND we’d like to install a computer server rack to equip our members with some awesome technology.
We are truly feeling the love… You like us, you really, really like us!
Oct 27… 3 Days Left. 75% there. Will you help us? You have the power to push us over the virtual edge! Why help? So we can open up our space to you! Yes, this Kickstarter fundraiser, if successful, will allow us to finish up what’s needed to officially open our doors for our community to get making.
How can you help?
1) Make a pledge to our Kickstarter: http://kck.st/1tVHqVI
2) Already did? Thank you. Can’t? That’s ok. But you can share our message (and link above) with your family and friends thru email and social media. Just add a personal note why this makerspace is important to you.
Need inspiration? Here’s a NEW video reminder of one important reason why we’re working so hard to build Atlanta’s first all-ages makerspace.
Oct 24… One week to go: 71% there! Woo Hoo! We’re getting so close and have 135 amazing backers making this happen… thank you! But we still need help to reach our goal by next Friday, Oct 31. Will you help too?
To spice things up, we’ve added a few more levels including two new classes:
1) a Steampunk robot build that will include gears, movement and lighting.
2) a family Free Little Library class that’ll include building instructions and materials.
Thanks for all your support! And we just ask that you share our cause with two friends! ‘Cause we really want to open our doors and get our maker community making.
Oct 17… Almost $10K raised @ halfway point! You’ve helped us get to over 65% to our goal! With a little over 2 weeks left in our campaign, we’re getting closer and closer… thank you, all you wonderful backers out there!
To celebrate, we’ve added several new pledge levels:
1) Since our $500 parties SOLD OUT, we’ve added 2 more!
2) One of our Decatur Makers Founding Members has offered to write a personalized, one-of-a-kind Heavy Metal rock song for you!
3) And our little makers will need some protection when they’re making in our space, so you can sponsor a kid’s apron that will be personalized with your name, so these little people can thank you every time they put one on!
We thank you for all your support! And if you think this is all pretty cool, please share our cause with your friends! We’ll be forever grateful…
Oct 9… Over a week in to our campaign, and we’ve raised almost $9,500! If we weren’t still recovering from an amazing weekend of Maker Faire Atlanta, we’d be dancing over here. Thank you, thank you to all our incredible backers! It’s you making this all happen.
Oct 3… You hear us cheering??? We were a Kickstarter PROJECT OF THE DAY! It must’ve been the craziness of support from all of you because we’ve raised over $7,600 in 4 days. Astounding.
And we’re even more amped up since we’ll be participating in Maker Faire Atlanta this weekend.
So, to celebrate, we’re adding two new Pledge Levels in honor of this weekend. First, only available Oct 3-5, have your name etched on our “Kickin’ it @ Maker Faire Atlanta 2014” wood table. Second, you have a chance to drive our Decatur Maker built-from-the-ground-up Power Racing Series cars sometime in 2015. Help us cheer them on at their inaugural races this weekend, Saturday 1:00 and 3:00, Sunday 1:00.
Did we say astounding? We meant MIND BLOWING!! BOOM.
Thanks for helping to spread the word! There’s still two stretch goals in front of us so it’s time to step on the gas.
Oct 1… WOW! You are kickin’ us into opening our space! Thank you, thank you, thank you to our amazing supporters. It seems our memberships and class vouchers are the most popular items at the moment. Why not join us at the space now??? Tonite is our Community Meeting from 6-9:00. We’ll be making the last push to finish up our Maker Faire Atlanta projects. We can always use more hands to help. All ages and skill levels welcome!
And then we can thank you again in person!
Sept 30th… What an incredible launch of our campaign! The maker love we’re feeling is overwhelming. Thank you to our wonderful early supporters! With several people taking advantage of our “what a deal!”-priced annual memberships and class vouchers, we look forward to to building with you at our space really soon!
Please help us spread the love! If you think what we’re trying to do is pretty cool, then consider sharing this Kickstarter link with friends and family. We’ll be forever grateful…
On Sept 29th, we launched our Kickstarter to fund major efforts at Decatur Makers. We’re optimistic that over the next 32 days we’ll reach our goal of raising $15,000 or more. This funding will make several important projects inside our space and within our community possible. With your support we’re sure to be successful in kickstarting our future as a family friendly makerspace for this amazing community.
Before you back our Kickstarter, think about what having a family friendly makerspace means to you as an individual, a family or as a business. Imagine how epic this will be and decide to make a commitment to support Decatur Makers.
Now… go ahead and back us on kickstarter!
Aside from your direct support, we also need your help to spread the word. We need as much help as we can get sharing this Kickstarter. Please pass our message along to at least one community that is likely to have supportive members. If you will help by sharing our link on appropriate social networking sites, forums, community newsletters and by simply talking to people about our campaign you will be a huge part of our success.

If (and when) our initial goals have been met we’ll begin the celebration, a virtual high-five / fist bump / yodel to all the members of our community, Decatur and the surrounding neighborhoods and all of the people who have supported us thus far. We hope that you’ll join us in the festivities!
