Is the makerspace open now?
Great question! Decatur Makers is currently in the Beta Phase of our re-opening, where we are only allowing a limited number of our current members into the space at a time with scheduled, supervised visits on Mon – Sat between 10-5:00. All member key fobs have been deactivated. For members coming in, we’re following CDC recommendations: requiring a mask while in the space at all times, washing hands, taking temperatures, requiring everyone to socially distance, and sanitizing tools and equipment.
We are currently closed to the public, not holding any in-person events or classes or taking on new members. IF you were a previous paying member who had already gone through our New Member Orientation and are interested in coming into the space, please reach out to us at [email protected].
We are hosting our Open Build Nights online only every Wednesday of the month (except the first one) at 7pm. You can find the Zoom link on our MeetUp. Check in with us to chat about the maker things with some of our members! Plus, keep checking in on our MeetUp calendar as we’ll be adding more virtual events soon.
We know these crazy times will get better and we’ll keep you posted as we move forward with our opening phases!
Stay healthy out there.
